'Ready to go': Ange Postecoglou hints Spurs player who hasn't started since February could now play v Arsenal

Tottenham Hotspur will be eager to get their Premier League top-four hopes back on track when they host Arsenal on Sunday.

Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs currently sit six points adrift of fourth-placed Aston Villa, but have two games in hand to try and make up the deficit.

Tottenham need to win in order to keep alive their chances of qualifying for the Champions League. Then there’s the added bonus of all-but ending Arsenal’s title hopes too.

In terms of team news, Spurs have been dealt a blow in the shape of Destiny Udogie suffering a season-ending injury in training.

However, Tottenham have been boosted by the return to training of two players, and both could now be set to feature against the Gunners.

Pedro Porro and Richarlison are available after training all week, and Postecoglou is pleased about what the latter can once again bring to the Spurs attack.

What has Ange Postecoglou said about Tottenham forward Richarlison?

“He’s another one who has had a disrupted season,” the Tottenham boss told football.london. “When he’s been in, he’s been really good for us but then had two injuries and started the season with an injury.

“Great to have him back and it does gives us other options in that front third. We’re kind of really fortunate that he was at his best when Sonny was away and he filled that breach.

“We’re talking about how we’re going to cover the goals with the loss of Harry and at different times they both have stood up, but we’ve rarely had them together in great physical shape.

“He’s looked good in training this week, which is good and he’s obviously ready to go. We’re going to need him over the last six games and it does give us another good option in that front third.”

Richarlison hasn’t started for Tottenham since February. He has made three appearances off the bench since then, but has also had to sit out four league games due to a knee injury.

With so much at stake beyond bragging rights, it’s good to see Richarlison back in the fold and seemingly ready to play his part in a game of such high stakes.
