David Moyes admits there’s something he really needs to say about Jurgen Klopp

Jurgen Klopp’s final clash with David Moyes ended in a 2-2 draw between Liverpool and West Ham on Saturday.

With the Reds title hopes already realistically over, a win would still have kept them just about in the picture.

In the end, they could only muster a draw as Mohamed Salah clashed with Klopp on the touchline.

And although Jurgen will not be feeling his best on the back of a high-profile spat with Salah, he could at least count on some kind words from Moyes at the full-time whistle.

Having often seen Klopp get the better of he and his West Ham team over the years though, the Scotsman couldn’t help throw some tongue-in-cheek humour in there, though.

What has David Moyes said about Jurgen Klopp

Klopp has very often spoken warmly of Moyes throughout his time as Liverpool boss. He’s also occasionally dished out a drubbing to the 61-year-old and his team, too.

Saturday’s game was not one of those times though, and in quotes via The Standard after the game, Moyes was seemingly feeling in a light-hearted mood.

“I’ll be glad he’s gone,” smiled the former Man United manager. “He’s f______ too big, his teeth are too bright. I hate saying it because I’ve worked against him in the other clubs that are probably their biggest rivals, but I think he’s been immense for Liverpool. He really has been.

“I think he’s the daddy there, I really do,” Moyes added. “He’s been able to control a big football club, which is not an easy thing to do at times. I am glad to see the back of him, I’ve got to say. But the Premier League brings in lots of managers from different places.

“Some come and go very quickly. Some can last the course — Jose Mourinho, Sir Alex [Ferguson], Pep [Guardiola], Arsene [Wenger], obviously Jurgen — others can’t last that course. I have to say Jurgen has been really good for Liverpool.

“Hurry up and get away; I’ll be pleased to see you move on. To manage a club like Liverpool you have to be very good, and he’s very good at his job.”

How many games do Liverpool have under Klopp

Saturday’s draw was the final nail in Liverpool’s title dream. There is now no way that Klopp will end his time at Anfield hoisting a second Premier League trophy aloft.

The Reds now have just three games left to ensure that they finish as strongly as possible.

Having played four away games on the bounce, Liverpool will be glad to get back on home turf next weekend. They play Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

The Reds then head to Aston Villa on Monday May 13th, before finishing the season – and saying goodbye to Jurgen – at Anfield the following Sunday.

With nothing much left to play for, hopefully Klopp can still send a final reminder that Moyes’ words are well justified.
