Britain’s Got Talent fans slam Harrison’s ‘fake’ audition but it still gave them ‘goosebumps’

Britain’s Got Talent act Harrison Pettman is taking his chances on sacking off his day job and becoming a singer this Spring. Standing on stage in front of the BGT judges, Harrison explains how he currently works as a security guard and a youth worker. But, his future could look very different following his rendition of With You from Ghost the Musical.

Twenty-two-year-old Harrison stepped out on the Britain’s Got Talent stage to surprise his family in the audience. His parents, Nan, and brother were all watching. He said they had no idea he was going to be performing, but fans have their suspicions the whole thing was “fake.”

Britain’s Got Talent Harrison slammed as ‘fake’

Before Britain’s Got Talent fans see Harrison sing his heart out on stage, they’re acquainted with his parents who are sitting in the audience.

A member of the crew is seen telling Harrison’s mum and dad how they’re to be “mic’d up” for the show, as they’re “going to be part of the filmed audience.”

Harrison’s mum says she “can’t believe how close they’re seated to the judges,” before he makes a break for it and tells her he needs to go to the toilet.

He’s told: “Well done, that was a good escape,” as he heads to the stage for his performance.

Harrison says his mum has had “no clue” he’s performing, but fans are convinced the whole thing was a “set up” and “fake.”

Although the singer’s family looked totally gobsmacked when he appeared on stage, many viewers took to X (Twitter) to sarcastically write: “I’m sure Harrison’s family had no idea.”

Another said: “Harrison claimed he surprised his family but they were conveniently mic’d up…”

More wrote: “Set up. Totally fake, this Harrison stunt.”

BGT act gave fans ‘goosebumps’

“Fake” or not, it’s safe to say Harrison moved the audience with his song.

The ITV show star’s mum and dad appeared emotional before he’d even begun singing With You.

And as he finished his audition, both were in floods of tears. His parents weren’t the only ones, as fans also tweeted how emotional they found the song.

Others said the audition “gave them goosebumps” and judge Amanda Holden was also holding back tears.

She said the song was “beautiful” adding how it was a “favorite” of hers and Simon Cowell‘s.

Bruno Tonioli added how he “loved” Harrison’s voice but Simon said he’d “need a lot of practice” if he wanted a career working in the West End.

The singer managed to bag a ‘yes’ from Simon, nevertheless, made his family “proud” and sailed on through to the next round.
