‘Existential crisis’: The Esk fumes at Farhad Moshiri for Everton ‘failure’ over 777 Partners takeover

Everton have been ran like a circus for far too long now, and something simply has to change.

But, for now, a little bit of celebration is in order alongside some much-needed pressure relief, as the Toffees are once again safe from the drop.

And this time, it is well ahead of schedule going by recent trends.

However, that should not disguise the many outstanding issues still plaguing the club, which simply must be sorted out in the coming months.

The Esk launches into fresh takeover rant

Writing on his blog, finance guru and fan writer Paul Quinn, better known as The Esk on X, sought to offer his scathing verdict on a recent comment made by Sean Dyche.

A flippant remark made in jest, but certainly coming from a place of truth, he noted after beating Brentford: ‘This job is not the way it has been pitched to me or what has happened.’

Well, this was the final straw for The Esk to write another furious piece aimed at Farhad Moshiri, as he claimed: ‘It’s important because whilst the on-field achievement of escaping relegation removes a huge uncertainty and the consequences of not being in the Premier League next season, it doesn’t solve the crisis surrounding Everton – the existential crisis created by Moshiri, his choices and misjudgements.

‘Just as Dyche managed to focus on the immediate tasks required to secure our position in the Premier League, blocking out the noise as he put it, someone – most likely us the fans, have to perform a similar task in rescuing the club from Moshiri’s actions. He has proven time and time again his judgements are not sound.

‘At this particular moment he has us in the most perilous position in our existence. The failure not to provide new funding, the failure not to seek suitable new purchasers, his failure perhaps not to seek further support from existing backers, his failure to bring in corporate recovery and yes, insolvency expertise as a contingent (minimally), pushes us closer to the edge, and above all else his insistence on 777 Partner’s ability to successfully conclude.’

Farhad Moshiri needs to move on from 777 Partners

We all get that Moshiri is simply desperate to move on from Everton. Who wouldn’t be in his position?

After all, he has propelled hundreds of millions of pounds into this operation, and in return will be forced to sell the club at a monumental loss having regressed this once-great institution in the process.

He promised the world and delivered next to nothing, and despite the brand-new stadium nearing completion on the waterfront, his legacy will be one of abject failure.

The very least he could do is leave us in capable hands, but with 777 Partners, they seem to be far from that.

Their persisting struggles to even provide the cash needed to fulfil the Premier League’s four conditions should have been enough of a red flag to completely scupper the deal, yet it drags on.

With new parties reportedly interested, why not just move on to the next buyer, perhaps one with the necessary funds to immediately purchase Everton outright and progress them forwards?
