Lukas Podolski posts instant one-word reaction after seeing Arsenal beat Tottenham today

Arsenal were the winners today as they held out to see off Tottenham 3-2 in the latest instalment of the North London Derby.

The Gunners powered into a three goal lead by half-time as their brilliance from set-pieces once again showed when it mattered.

Mikel Arteta was delighted with his team and in the end, he was a relieved man as well, as he sprinted onto the field at full-time to give goalkeeper David Raya an almighty hug.

Of course, aside from this being about the title race for Arsenal and Champions League race for Tottenham, it’s also a local derby with a bitter history.

For those who have played for Arsenal in the past, that is all that matters.

And taking to social media platform X to boast about the win for Arsenal, former Gunner Lucas Podolski made sure he was on hand to have his say.

North London is Red…for now

Arsenal hold the bragging rights at the moment in north London and they’ll celebrate this win long into the night.

However, there is a bigger picture at play here and that’s to do with Manchester City.

If City win all their games, then they win the league and it simply won’t matter how red London is, the Gunners will have still missed out on the title.

It is, of course, great to beat your rivals and Arsenal fans, former players, and pundits who support them will be delighted with the win, just as Podolski is here.

Arsenal have got to follow it up and go onto win now. As mentioned, it’s not all in their hands and all they can do is win games.

But days like today will feel wasted if City spoil the party. And at the end of the season, it will be another trophyless campaign for Arteta and his team.
