‘Wow’: Emile Smith Rowe and Alexandre Lacazette blown away by Arsenal star after NLD win

What a win and what a performance by Arsenal as they saw off Tottenham Hotspur with a stunning win in the north London derby on Sunday.

There was a lot of pressure on Mikel Arteta and his players heading into this match because their rivals had the chance to spoil their Premier League title charge.

But Arsenal stood tall by scoring three goals inside 45 minutes, thanks to Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg heading into his own net, a fantastic run and finish from Bukayo Saka and another goal from Kai Havertz to seal the crucial three points.

Not only does it ensure that the Gunners remain top of the Premier League table in this pulsating title race, but it means that they have won the bragging rights of north London once more.

Arsenal were at the races from the off, after winning an early corner, Saka whipped in a brilliant ball and it was too hot to handle for the Tottenham defence.

Then the title-chasers showcased their ruthless side when they hit Spurs on the break, with Havertz playing a wonderful ball over the top to Saka, who well and truly did Ben Davies one-v-one, before curling his effort into the bottom corner.

And by the time Ange Postecglou could have his half-time team talk, the away were heading in their third thanks to Havertz scoring again.

It was dreamland for Arsenal, yes, they made life difficult for themselves by conceding two silly goals in the second-half, but they still showcased character to take home the points and a 3-2 win in the north London derby.

After the game, Saka expressed his delight on Instagram and he was lauded and applauded by his teammates in the comments section.

Bukayo Saka helps Arsenal down Tottenham

Emile Smith Rowe wrote ‘wow’, whilst Jurrien Timber sent a series of exclamation marks to the England winger.

Declan Rice added ‘Let them keep talking’, added with a star emoji, Alexandre Lacazette sent several heart emojis and Beth Mead applauded the player.

Arsenal and Manchester City

You can rule out Liverpool in the Premier League title race because they can’t stop crumbling after dropping more points at the weekend away at West Ham United.

The sideline spat between Mohamed Salah and Jurgen Klopp just made matters worse for them, with Arsenal and Manchester City now fighting till the end.

Of course, those at the Emirates still need Man City to drop points because if they win their remaining matches, then they are champions again.

And that help might come in the courtesy of a certain Tottenham, who will face Pep Guardiola’s side on Tuesday 14th May, days before the 2023/24 Premier League season draws to a close.

Just imagine Spurs helping out Arsenal in the title race. It would be quite incredible and a script Arsenal fans want to see unfold.
