‘You never know’: 27-year-old sold by Chelsea hints he could be open to Stamford Bridge return

One former Chelsea player has now hinted that he could be keen for a return to the Blues in the future.

He claimed in an interview for TNT Sports that despite only recently arriving at his current side, he has refused to close the door on a comeback at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have seen a large turnover of players who developed as part of their academy process at Cobham.

A lot of these players didn’t even get a chance to perform for the Blues, however of those who did feature none perhaps played less minutes than Jeremie Boga.

Jeremie Boga played just 18 minutes for Chelsea

The winger featured for just 18 minutes on the opening day of the season back in 2017, with a red card for Gary Cahill seeing him forced to be subbed off early in the game.

A plethora of loan spells followed for him, with him eventually moving on permanently to Italy.

The 27-year-old has begun to find his feet as a regular starter though, currently featuring for Nice where he has four goals and four assists this season.

Boga refuses to rule out Chelsea return

While there have been no reports of a potential reunion in the future, Boga himself has now claimed that he would refuse to rule out moving back there.

He said: “You never close the door, but I’ve just arrived at Nice, I’ve signed a long contract and I’m focused on Nice. But you never know what might happen in the future.”

Chelsea are currently investing a lot of stock in their current young wingers, with both Noni Madueke and Mykhailo Mudryk being brought in for big money.

The former enjoyed a strong showing at the weekend against Aston Villa, and has arguably taken bigger steps to becoming a key player in the future for the Blues.

He will almost certainly be handed the chance to start on Thursday against Tottenham, with victory crucial in their attempts to secure European football for next season.
