Former USC Trojans running back Reggie Bush finally has his Heisman Trophy back. For him, though, one of the best parts has been that this has helped his children to discover his old USC highlights.

Bush explained during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show that his children love watching those highlights and that’s rewarding for him.

“Anytime I get a chance to watch my old highlights, usually with my kids,” Reggie Bush said. “My kids love to bring up my highlights. That, to me, is the best part when my kids want to watch it.”

Reggie Bush was dominant during his time at USC. In three seasons, he rushed for 3,169 yards and 25 touchdowns. He also had 1,301 receiving yards and 13 receiving touchdowns. 2005 was the best of his three seasons there, resulting in him winning the Heisman Trophy.

“But it’s mostly with my kids when I get a chance to watch my highlights because they love bringing them up, and that’s a very full circle moment for me,” Bush said. “Any chance I get the chance to do that with my kids and just show them the things Daddy did on the football field, and they can take that to school and be proud of that and whatever else they see.”

The Heisman Trust ended up stripping Reggie Bush of his Heisman Trophy over violations relating to a sports agent. However, there has long since been pressure from both Bush and the general public to restore the honor. Now, that has happened and it’s created a special moment for Bush and his family to enjoy together.

Reggie Bush: ‘I always felt like I was gonna get my Heisman Trophy back’

Despite it seeming like an uphill battle at times, Reggie Bush has said that he always felt like he was going to get his Heisman Trophy back at some point.

“When I first got the news, you know, I was excited, obviously, because this was a fight that we’ve been fighting for a very long time. I’m happy that the Heisman Trust made the right decision, did the right thing and got the trophy back. And obviously, I was, like I said, I was excited when I got the news, but I’ve always felt like I was gonna get my Heisman Trophy back. Always. I just didn’t know how long it was gonna take,” Bush said.

“And it didn’t matter to me how long it took as well. I was gonna fight until — it could have been another 20 years. I was gonna continue to fight for it. So, I’m just happy that it happened now.”
