'Absolutely absurd' Pundit in disbelief with what Inter Miami's Lionel Messi did vs New England

MLS pundit Matt Doyle has shared his disbelief over Lionel Messi after one moment from the Inter Miami star against the New England Revolution.

The 36-year-old forward was again influential for the Herons away from Chase Stadium as Messi bagged a brace and two assists in a 4-1 win for Inter Miami, with Benjamin Cremaschi and Luis Suarez also on the scoresheet.

With Messi breaking one more MLS record, the Argentine international is now in full flow with Inter Miami, with the attacker now leading the goalscoring and assist charts in the league having fully returned from injury this month.

And MLS expert Doyle was in awe by one moment from the veteran superstar on Saturday.

Pundit amazed by Messi’s touch to set up Inter Miami goal vs New England

Speaking on MLS’s Extratime podcast, the pundit shared his amazement over Messi’s touch for his first goal in the night as the Argentine international took out the entire New England defense in just one move after being played in by Robert Taylor.

With Sergio Busquets doing something similar with a pass, it was a night where Inter Miami showed that their technical quality is miles ahead of any other squad in MLS this season.

And Messi creating chances for himself with a single touch is something we should not be surprised to see, yet the 36-year-old continues to show us that he still has new tricks up his sleeve.

Doyle said: “That first goal he scored, the first touch he makes, we’ve all been watching Messi for 20 years, nothing should surprise us anymore, but that was absurd, absolutely absurd that touch he had.”

Messi’s individual quality is taking MLS by storm this year

Messi is the greatest player of all time, with the attacker showing with Inter Miami this year that even at 36 that he has plenty to offer at this stage in his career.

And the forward’s individual moments of quality are taking MLS by storm, with a fully-fit Messi simply too much to handle for opposing teams this season.

With Messi averaging multiple goal contributions per game, there’s no telling how far the attacker can take Inter Miami this year, with the Herons on-course for a record-breaking year if the Argentine can stay fit.
