Beloved American actor Zack Norman has tragically passed away and tributes to the talent are coming in thick and fast.

Movies and TV can make actors immortal. Sure, their bodies may move on, but the work and legacy they leave behind is eternal. Remaining to be enjoyed by generation after generation. Even with such a romantic view of acting, there’s no denying the heartbreak endured by family, friends, fans, and colleagues when a performer passes away. Sadly, many are devastated to learn that American actor Zack Norman has died.

Actor Zack Norman has sadly died at 83

Tragically, actor, comedian, and movie producer Zack Norman passed away of natural causes on Sunday, April 28th 2024 at the age of 83.

The unfortunate news was confirmed by his son-in-law, Jeff Briller.

Audiences will be familiar with Zack for a wide range of projects across his storied career, which kick-started with an appearance of stand-up comedy on The Tonight Show With Johnny Carson, all the way back in 1969.

He’s arguably best known for playing Ira in the 1984 adventure blockbuster Romancing The Stone, in which he co-starred alongside Danny DeVito and Michael Douglas. Other notable movie roles, on the other hand, included Chief Zabu (Sammy Brooks), 1981’s Ragtime (Manager), and more.

Lots will also remember him for 1990’s Cadillac Man (he played Harry Munchack) with Robin Williams and Tim Robbins as part of the impressive cast.

On the TV side of things, he popped up for some exciting appearances on The A-Team (Gino Scarlatti), Baywatch (Valdez), and The Nanny (Uncle Jack).

Tributes for Zack Norman are being shared online

A wide range of tributes continue to come in for Zack, many emerging on X/Twitter as we speak.

“Farewell to Zack Norman,” the distributor Indo Overseas Films tweeted, “the talented actor and comedian who brought joy to audiences worldwide. From Romancing The Stone to countless laughs, his legacy lives on.”

“May his memory be a blessing,” another wrote, sharing an image of the star in black and white to their Twitter in memoriam.

“I loved this guy in Romancing the Stone,” one wrote. “RIP.” Fans of the film are sure to highlight his performance as a career highlight.

A former colleague wrote “We both starred in Queen Of The Lot in 2010. A sweet man.”

As tributes continue to surface, may Zack rest in peace and we all find comfort that his memory lives on through those who knew him and love his work.
