'You can tell': Matt O'Riley shares what he's noticed about Brendan Rodgers at Celtic recently

Like probably every Celtic supporter on the planet, I am just as nervous about the title race as anyone.

With just three points separating Celtic from Rangers, one slip up can prove costly as Brendan Rodgers looks to successfully defend the Scottish Premiership crown.

So you would think that the Celtic boss would be feeling the pressure, right? Well, if you listened to a certain section of the media, then you would think that would be true.

But not Rodgers. It seems that the Celtic manager is taking all this in his stride as Matt O’Riley admitted to what he has noticed about the Irishman recently.

O’Riley says Celtic title race is ‘fun’

The Danish international has been one of Celtic’s best players this season. The club’s top goalscorer, O’Riley has 14 goals and 16 assists to his name as he helps the club’s push towards the title.

But it’s what his gaffer has been doing recently that has left the 23-year-old enjoying this part of the season.

O’Riley said

, “You can tell he enjoys it. We get that feeling too. Everyone enjoys it. Everyone should enjoy it.

“It’s fun when it’s close. I know from a fans’ perspective and I’d like it to be easy and 12 points clear.

“But when it’s close it brings out that extra fire in everyone and drive so I think it’s really enjoyable.”

Indeed, this isn’t the first time that this has been noticed by one of the Celtic squad. We told just last week howLiam Scales admitted that Rodgers is very calm and relaxed heading into the top-six split.

And it’s great to hear that O’Riley has noticed the same. But encouragingly, it seems the pressure and nerves that the Celtic supporters are feeling is not being shared by the players and that will bode well for us as we head into the Hearts and Rangers games over the next two weeks.
