Reported Crystal Palace target now admits he spoke to Oliver Glasner earlier this month

One Crystal Palace target has now revealed he actually spoke to Oliver Glasner earlier in April.

The Austrian and Dougie Freedman are already making plans ahead of what is expected to be an eventful summer at Selhurst Park, with the Premier League’s elite circling around the likes of Ebere Eze and Michael Olise.

Marc Guehi is another who could be snapped up by England’s strongest clubs.

A story from the Telegraph claims that VfL Wolfsburg No.4 Maxence Lacroix is an option to replace the popular England international at Crystal Palace – and the defender himself has now shared some interesting comments with German news outlet Kicker…

Crystal Palace target Maxence Lacroix has spoken to Oliver Glasner

Well, Glasner actually signed the Frenchman from Sochaux during his time in charge of VfL Wolfsburg, and it seems the pair are still in regular contact.

Lacroix has now told Kicker that he actually messaged the 49-year-old following Crystal Palace’s recent 1-0 win over Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday 14th April.

When asked how recently he spoke to Glasner, the 24-year-old said: “After the game against Liverpool. Winning there is not that easy.”

Lacroix was then asked about a potential reunion with the man from Salzburg, to which he replied: “This is not the time to talk about it. I can’t say on the one hand that I want to be a leader and then on the other hand publicly deal with such things. Otherwise I won’t be 100% focused.”

An admirable attitude.

The defender from Villeneuve-Saint-Georges has made 25 Bundesliga appearances so far this season, impressively scoring four goals while also providing one assist.

How much the Frenchman could cost

We would advise keeping a close eye on this transfer rumour, as it seems to have legs.

Not only do Glasner and Lacroix boast a strong relationship, but the defender is actually available this summer as he enters the final 12 months of his contract.

VfL Wolfsburg are said to want £30m for the man compared to Rio Ferdinand, which is a modest fee nowadays for a 24-year-old defender with plenty of room to get even better.

As aforesaid, be sure to keep an eye out for more developments, as we can certainly see this deal materialising.
