Meghan Markle's feelings are 'clear' as Prince Harry to turn up alone again

Prince Harry will return to the UK without Meghan Markle this May, and the Duchess’ feelings on the matter are clear, according to experts.

The lives of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have been met with particular intrigue and curiosity ever since they moved to her native California and took a step back from the Royal Family in 2020. Although Meghan later returned to the UK for visits such as celebrating Queen Elizabeth II‘s Platinum Jubilee, she hasn’t been back since the Queen’s funeral, held in September 2022. Harry has since returned without her, and this trend is set to continue next month.

Prince Harry returning to UK without Meghan Markle for Invictus Anniversary

Despite public speculation that Meghan may travel to the UK with her husband this coming May for the Invictus Anniversary service, it’s now been confirmed this won’t be the case.

“Additional confirmation this morning that Meghan will not be joining Harry for the Invictus Anniversary service at [St Pauls] in London,” Royal correspondent Chris Ship wrote on X/Twitter. “But the Duchess of Sussex will join the Duke for an Invictus-inspired visit to Nigeria immediately after Harry leaves the UK.”

Harry will be present at the Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral, set to take place on Wednesday, May 8th 2024. This is to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, an international multi-sport event established by Harry in 2014 for injured, wounded, and sick servicemen and women.

“The Invictus Games Foundation will celebrate 10 years of changing lives and saving lives with a ‘Service of Thanksgiving’ at St Paul’s Cathedral on May 8th,” a statement on the official Invictus Games’ social media pages reads. “We will be joined by our Patron, Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex, actor Damian Lewis, and members of the worldwide Invictus Community to mark the occasion.”

That being said, it’s already been announced that Meghan will accompany Harry to Nigeria in connection with the Invictus Games, where the pair are anticipated to meet service members and their families, but also participate in other activities.

Meghan Markle’s thoughts are ‘clear’ ahead of Harry’s visit

New Magazine [via The Mirror] reports Meghan feels “not wanted” in the UK, a source close to the Royals claiming she’s reluctant to be “thrown back into an anxiety-fuelled visit to England.”

She has reportedly felt a “change of heart” when it comes to traveling to the UK, apparently due to security concerns.

Therefore, she’s decided to sit this one out before setting off to Nigeria with her husband instead.

Speaking with Good Morning America earlier this February, Harry revealed that he intends to check in with the family on several occasions in the future, beyond the Invictus Anniversary. “So my family and my life in California is as it is,” he explained. “I have got other trips planned. That would take me through the UK or back to the UK, so you know, I’ll stop in and see my family as much as I can.”
