Ole Miss women’s hoops has already made waves in the transfer portal with the addition of DeeDee Hagemann and Starr Jacobs. Now, Coach Yo and the Rebels have added another crucial piece with the addition of UCLA forward Christeen Iwuala.

Iwuala was the No. 49 recruit in the country by espnW HoopGurlz. She won the Adidas Nationals Championships with her club team, putting up 18 points, seven rebounds and two steals, taking home MVP honors. The 6-foot-2 prospect was named All-State in 2020 by the Texas Girl’s Coaches Association and competed in track and field. She played for both Midway and Ronald Reagan in Texas.

This year at UCLA, she averaged 3.7 points and 3.0 rebounds, shooting 54 percent from the field. Iwuala played in 33 games for the Top 10 program and scored 10 points three times for the Bruins.

Christeen Iwuala was a four-star prospect out of high school and brings a physical presence to Ole Miss.

As a high school senior, scouts loved her game.

“Strong, physical lefty power-post cleans the glass, outlets and initiates the fast break,” ESPNW said. “Offers a defensive presence in the paint, alters and rejects shots. Mobile in transition, gains position in the paint, finishes plays versus contact.”
