Meghan Markle complained about Princess Kate's popularity before she married Harry

It’s no secret Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton don’t have the strongest sisterly relationship, and it looks like the Duchess of Sussex may not have been Kate’s biggest fan before she became a member of the royal family and marrying Harry.

Kate Middleton and Prince William just celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary. That same year, Meghan Markle married her first husband, Trevor Engelson, and joined the cast of Suits. Although she was likely unknown to the royal family at the time, they weren’t unknown to her. In fact, she even wrote about the “pomp and circumstance surrounding the royal wedding.”

Meghan Markle ‘discussed dreams of becoming a Princess’ 4 years before marrying Harry

Back in the day, the former Suits actress had her lifestyle blog, The Tig, which is now defunct. Markle gave readers an insight into her life, including, her dreams to become a Princess in one 2014 post.

“Little girls dream of being princesses. I, for one, was all about She-Ra, Princess of Power,” she wrote, introducing her interview with Princess Alia Al-Senussi. She also admitted she had a ‘pinch me moment’ that she was emailing with a Princess, but little did she know she’d become one herself just four years later.

“Grown women seem to retain this childhood fantasy. Just look at the pomp and circumstance surrounding the royal wedding and endless conversation about Princess Kate,” she wrote further down, outlining the huge April 2011 event.

Just four years later, Meghan was in the same position, in her grand royal wedding with Prince Harry, watched by around 29.2 million people worldwide.

At the time of the wedding, The Tig was well and truly over, the Duchess closed the site in April 2017, seven months before she became engaged to Prince Harry.

Although her lifestyle blog is over, the 42-year-old is currently in the process of releasing her new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard.

William and Kate set to ‘snub’ Prince Harry next week

Prince Harry is set to return to the UK next week, for the first time since Kate Middleton announced her cancer diagnosis.

At the time, the Susexxes issued a statement, which said: “We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace.”

However, it was reported the celebrity couple were only made aware of the diagnosis shortly before the world. The decision is reported to have been made so they weren’t at risk of ‘spilling the beans’.

It is unknown whether King Charles will schedule a meeting while his youngest son is back in the UK, but reports suggest that if he does, it’ll be brief due to his busy schedule.

Prince William and Kate Middleton won’t be attending Harry’s Invictus Games event, and neither will any other senior royal. It’s also unlikely the three will meet outside of this.
