Oklahoma receiver Gavin Freeman plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, he announced on his Twitter account on Tuesday evening, just before the portal closed for the spring period.
Freeman spent two seasons with the Sooners and is coming off something of a breakout campaign in 2023.
He logged 19 catches for 95 yards and a touchdown, putting in a lot of work close to the line of scrimmage at Oklahoma. In two years he has totaled 22 catches for 141 yards and a touchdown.
Freeman has also shown some versatility as a runner. He has 12 carries for 93 yards and a touchdown in two seasons. He also returned punts, including running one back for a score in 2023.
Prior to enrolling at Oklahoma, Gavin Freeman was ranked as a three-star prospect and the No. 1,663 overall recruit in the nation in the 2022 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.
He also checked in as the No. 145 cornerback in the class and the No. 27 overall player from the state of Oklahoma, hailing from Oklahoma City (OK) Heritage Hall.
Oklahoma loses cornerback to the portal
Oklahoma cornerback Jasiah Wagoner plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, according to 247Sports’ Collin Kennedy. Wagoner will have multiple years of eligibility remaining.
As a true freshman in 2023, Wagoner played in seven games for the Sooners. He played in the final five games of the regular season for the Sooners.
In his seven appearances, Wagoner had a handful of tackles and two pass breakups. But despite the early promise that Wagoner showed in his career, he’ll be looking elsewhere to try and keep honing it. As a former high-level recruit, Wagoner will likely have plenty of suitors in the portal.
Wagoner played high school football at Spanaway Lake (Washington) High School, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 325 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
