Michail Antonio says striker Tottenham signed for just £16m was even better than Luis Suarez

Michail Antonio has been ranking some of the best strikers in Premier Legaue history.

The West Ham striker has taken part in a TikTok challenge for JD Football, and he’s made some interesting claims about a number of Premier League greats.

Perhaps the most interesting claims were found towards the bottom of Antonio’s list though.

Indeed, Antonio put Luis Suarez at 10 on his list behind Robbie Keane, claiming that the former Tottenham star was actually better than Suarez.

Robbie Keane better than Luis Suarez

Antonio shared his verdict on these two strikers.

“Robbie Keane, nine, Luis Suarez, Suarez, he was decent but he’s going to have to go at 10 for me.” Antonio said.

Robbie Keane was nowhere near Luis Suarez

We really like Robbie Keane as a player, but we can’t get on board with what Antonio is saying here.

Suarez was on another level to Keane – there’s a reason that he won a Golden Boot at Liverpool while Keane was shipped back to Tottenham for £16m just six months after arriving at Anfield.

Keane had plenty of ability, but Suarez was on another level.

Suarez won Golden Boots in numerous leagues while he’s won La Liga titles and Champions League trophies. Meanwhile, the peak of Keane’s career was a League Cup win with Tottenham – there’s no comparison to make here.

Now, that isn’t to play down Keane’s ability. The Irishman was lethal in his day, and, in a lot of ways, he was similar to Suarez in his ability to control the ball and manipulate defenders, but Suarez did everything to a higher standard it must be said.

Of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but, in our view, Suarez is some way ahead of Keane when it comes to ranking all-time Premier League strikers.
