‘Club is secure’: The Esk delivers key Everton takeover update with 777 Partners rivals ‘ready to support’

Everton’s takeover has dominated the headlines over the past few days, but once again, for all the wrong reasons.

During a week that should have been wrought with jubilation, as Sean Dyche has just led his side to safety with three games to spare, instead the ever-miserable rumour mill has begun turning once again, suggesting that administration looms just around the corner should 777 Partners not pull their finger out.

Their clear inability to fund this deal has not hampered their interest in completing the deal though, despite the Premier League quite clearly unwilling to make it happen.

And yet, the division are quite happy to keep stringing the Toffees along, left in limbo until further notice.

Well, at last, some good news has arrived.

The Esk finally delivers a positive takeover update

As one of 777 Partners’ biggest detractors, and a notoriously negative harbinger of doom regarding Everton, when something positive comes from Paul Quinn, it feels like it holds far more weight.

After all, this finance guru and writer has obviously spent plenty of time combing through the club’s finances, and whilst he is not always right, his predictions are ones backed up by the statistics.

Better known as ‘The Esk’ on X, his latest tweet details a potential rival for the Miami-based firm, whom he has sought to drive away from the club he supports on every occasion.

His latest offering, penned last night, reads: ‘I will return tomorrow to answer earlier questions, but just to establish a couple of things (i) Everton received some funding to meet our monthly obligations but not from the source quoted extensively in the media (ii) The Bonza situation has considerable knock on effects for 777 & associated companies (more tomorrow) (iii) the club is secure between now & end of season (iv) those “waiting in the wings” continue to be ready to support/acquire the club at the appropriate time, which is not too far away’.

Farhad Moshiri is strangely focused on 777 Partners

With Farhad Moshiri clearly desperate to depart Merseyside and bring to an end his torrid seven-year stint with the Toffees, it was obvious why he had chosen 777 Partners to take the club.

After all, he was unlikely to be inundated with offers, seeking to offload a club riddled with debt and consistently fighting relegation.

Alas, this organisation came in, and in September 2023 a deal was struck.

But since then, Moshiri’s odd fascination with selling to this party and this party only has likely seen countless alternative opportunities go begging, where he might have been able to get more money, or at the very least speed up the process.

For whatever reason, the Iranian businessman wants to give 777 Partners this club. Fortunately for The Esk, they continue to do everything but stump up the necessary funds to acquire Premier League approval, thus delaying the outcome.
