URGENT: Powell says "unlikely" Fed's next rate move will be a hike

Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell said Wednesday that the U.S. central bank's next policy rate move is "unlikely" to be a hike.

Speaking at a press conference after the Fed's two-day policy meeting, Powell also said it appears that it will take longer for policymakers to gain enough confidence for a rate cut because of stubborn inflation, adding he does not have a clear timeframe.
