Miami defensive lineman Thomas Gore expected to enter transfer portal

Miami defensive lineman Thomas Gore is expected to enter the NCAA transfer portal, according to a report from On3’s Pete Nakos.

Gore began his career at Georgia State, spending four years there before transferring to Miami ahead of the 2023 season.

Once with the Hurricanes, Gore began to contribute right away. He played in all 13 games, finishing with 8 tackles, 4.0 tackles for a loss, 2.0 sacks and two forced fumbles.

Those numbers didn’t quite match his production at Georgia State, where Gore put together very solid 2021 and 2022 seasons.

In five years in college so far, Gore has recorded 101 tackles, 26.0 tackles for a loss, 13.0 sacks and four forced fumbles. He’ll be looking to carry over that productivity to a new school, almost certainly one where he can get on the field right away given his declining eligibility.

Prior to enrolling at Georgia State, Thomas Gore was ranked as a three-star prospect and the No. 2,704 overall recruit in the 2019 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.

He also checked in as the No. 224 defensive lineman in his class and the No. 119 overall player in the state of Tennessee, hailing from Brentwood (TN) Brentwood Academy.

On3 will have more on this developing story shortly.
