'I honestly' - TalkSPORT presenter believes Man Utd fans are finally 'beginning to run out of patience' with one talented player at Old Trafford

TalkSPORT presenter Ally McCoist has insisted that it might be in the “best interest of all parties” for one Manchester United star to leave Old Trafford in the summer.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has overseen a chaotic up-and-down season at Old Trafford, including the club’s early exit from the Champions League.

The Dutchman’s second season at Old Trafford has failed to live up to high expectations, following on from his debut campaign at United.

United can no longer finish in the Premier League top four this season and the Red Devils will be without Champions League football for the following campaign.

Erik ten Hag still has a chance to finish the campaign on a high note after United reached the FA Cup final for the second consecutive season.

United avoided an FA Cup upset at the hands of Coventry City in the semi-finals and punched their ticket to the final against Manchester City on 25th May at Wembley.

Ten Hag’s men faced Manchester City in the final last season and suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Pep Guardiola’s side at Wembley in 2023.

Speaking on TalkSPORT, Rangers legend Ally McCoist suggested that it was time for Marcus Rashford to consider his future at Manchester United.

Marcus Rashford has struggled to impress in the current Premier League season and the United forward has been criticised for his form and lack of consistency.

The 26-year-old United star was in the form of his life under Erik ten Hag last season, only for Rashford to underperform in his current season at Old Trafford.

McCoist claimed that United fans are ‘running out of patience’ with Rashford and the England international “doesn’t look happy” at the moment.

“Looking at Marcus Rashford, I honestly believe it’s in the best interest of all parties that he goes and gets a fresh challenge somewhere else,” he said, as per Stretty News.

“I think he needs it, and I think the Manchester United fans are beginning to run out of patience with him and a few others in the side.

“I look at his body language and he just doesn’t look happy.”

Is Rashford’s Man Utd time up?

Rashford inked a new deal with United last summer and the Three Lions star is under contract until 2028.

The United star has broken his silence recently and hit out at the abuse he has received this season, with Ten Hag also making his feelings clear on the matter.

The Daily Telegraph recently reported that United are preparing for a major summer clearout of the first-team squad and will entertain offers for ‘almost every player.’

Rashford is believed to be among the United players on the list that could be sold, but the Red Devils are keen for him to stay at Old Trafford beyond this season.

According to BBC Sport, club sources are ‘adamant’ that their ‘preference’ is to keep Rashford and help the United star revitalise his form at the club.
