‘The talent he’s got’: Celtic told they have a player who is just as good as Tom Rogic

The great thing about being a Celtic supporter is that we are blessed with having the privilege of watching the best players in Scotland every week.

Players like Reo Hatate, Kyogo Furuhashi and Daizen Maeda have been superb to watch over the last two seasons as the Japanese contingent proved to be pivotal in bringing success to Celtic over the last two seasons.

We’ve also watched Cameron Carter-Vickers shackle some of the best attackers in the league whilst enjoying Joe Hart making crucial saves to ensure Celtic keep the title bid well on track.

But there is another player who Stephen O’Donnell believes is so good that he reminds him of Quadruple Treble legend, Tom Rogic.

‘He’s got ability’ – Matt O’Riley’s brilliant comparison

Celtic fans still have memories of Tom Rogic fresh in their mind. After all, it was only five years ago that his superb goal against Aberdeen set the club on course for a Quadruple Treble.

And O’Donnell believes that O’Riley is of a similar mould to the Wizard of Oz.

O’Donnell said [The Go Radio Football Show], “It sounds as if there were some shackles on him previously.

“The way he receives the ball, and when you’re playing against him, it’s one of the hardest skills taking the ball on the back foot.

“And the way he does it, he makes it look effortless. I was probably subject to thinking he had such a great start, and he’s maybe been a little bit quieter.

“If you’re voting for the best player in the league then that is so different. Because the talent he’s got and his ability he reminds me of Tom Rogic. Absolutely.”

Rogic is an absolute legend at Celtic. Scoring huge goals in cup finals, Glasgow Derby‘s and in the Scottish Premiership, the Australian’s 46 goals and 49 assists were crucial in helping him win seven league titles, five Scottish Cups and five League Cups during his Parkhead career. [Transfermarkt]
