‘He never stops’: Gary Neville amazed by desire of £32m Chelsea man in win over Tottenham tonight

Gary Neville was full of praise for Chelsea in tonight’s big win at Stamford Bridge tonight.

Goals from Trevoh Chalobah and Nicolas Jackson helped them to a 2-0 victory against London rivals Tottenham, keeping their hopes alive to qualify for Europe for next season.

The result was also a massive boost for Mauricio Pochettino in his quest to keep his job at the club for next season.

Up against his former side, he will be delighted with what he saw from his players, especially in the second half as they withstood the storm after the half-time break.

It was the result of a sensational free-kick from Cole Palmer where they doubled their lead, with his effort smashing the bar before being headed home by Jackson.

Neville was extremely impressed with the effort, and praised Jackson as a whole for his desire and ability to never give up.

Neville impressed by Nicolas Jackson

He said: “Is it an assist?! It’s a beautiful free-kick from Palmer. It’s absolutely brilliant. I actually think it’s a really difficult chance for Jackson, to get the power on the ball and get it over the two defenders rushing back.

“I quite like Jackson. He gets a lot of criticism. He’s young, he’s raw but he never stops.”

Jackson has done a lot right for most of the season, however things have seemed to sometimes break down at the final moments.

However, his fourth goal of the season today against Spurs went down extremely well, and this was key in ending the momentum their opponents had in the second half.

He is going to play a key role in the end of the season too, with the options limited as for who else to come on and replace him at this stage.
