28-year-old Hammer wants to leave West Ham this summer - report

Nayef Aguerd wants to leave West Ham United this summer because of something that David Moyes has done.

Two days ago it emerged that West Ham centre-back Nayef Aguerd has emerged as a summer transfer target for Ligue 1 outfit Marseille.

Recent reports suggested that the Morocco international faces an extremely uncertain future at the London Stadium under Hammers boss David Moyes.

Signed for £27 million just under two years ago (Athletic), Aguerd’s time at the London Stadium seems to be coming to an end. He’s been absolutely terrible for us, let’s be honest here.

Initially he looked like the real deal but as time has gone on, he has proven to be a bad fit for West Ham, with his style painfully ill-suited to Premier League football.

The 28-year-old’s future clearly lies away from West Ham. Marseille would be a decent option for him, and it seems as though he’s keen to leave the London Stadium for one specific reason…

Nayef Aguerd wants to leave West Ham

According to a report from Le10Sport, the Moroccan is open to the idea of leaving the Hammers this summer.

And there is one reason in particular that is slowly forcing him out the door…

Moroccan journalist Hakim Zhouri explained the real reason why Aguerd wants to leave West Ham:

“I heard back from him yesterday. The player is not against the idea of leaving because he has lost his status as an ‘indisputable’ starter. Now he’s more in the rotation, he comes into the game less. It’s true that he’s a bit injured, but he’s really less involved in the coach’s game. There are others ahead of him, so the club is not closed to the idea of letting him go. Secondly, the game plan might appeal to him at Marseille. After that, it will depend on a number of factors.”

So, the former Rennes man wants to leave the London Stadium because he’s not a guaranteed starter anymore.

I don’t blame Moyes for not playing him either – he’s a liability and has become a target for the opposition in every single game she plays.

Don’t let the door hit you on the way out Nayef!

Aguerd has been injured on and off all season long really.

He has played just five Premier League games for the Hammers since December 17th (Soccerbase).

I think if we can get a decent fee for him, we need to move him on without hesitation. Hopefully a club from Saudi come in and make a big bid for him but even if they don’t, I’m just hoping that we cut our losses on the centre-back.

Nayef Aguerd has been a terrible signing for West Ham on the whole, and finally his time at the club seems to be coming to an end.
