A week after a hard wreck into the inside wall at Dover, Amber Balcaen is feeling good enough to race and gave an update for fans. Last week during the NASCAR weekend at the Monster Mile it didn’t look good for Balcaen for a few moments.

Running full-time in the ARCA Menards Series, Amber Balcaen didn’t want to sit out this week. Good news, she didn’t have to. Balcaen had a minor foot injury and it doesn’t seem to be much of a problem.

Being an injury to her left foot, it isn’t that much of an issue. Kansas isn’t a track where you brake into the corners all the time, or at all, really. Just leave that right foot on the gas and pick the fastest lane.

“Honestly I feel great, the foot’s been getting better every day,” Balcaen said before the race. “I just look at this as an opportunity to showcase my strength and resilience. The foot’s feeling great, when I’m in the car I really don’t notice it, to be honest. It’s the left foot, we don’t need brakes here, so I’m good.”

Balacaen qualified P6 for the ARCA Menards Series race at Kansas Speedway.

It’s great to see Amber Balcaen at the race track. She is going to try and earn another top-10 finish for the season. She already has two top-10s. Going into this weekend, Balcaen was fourth in the point standings. She has had a good overall season and hopes to keep moving forward.

Amber Balcaen has great opportunity ahead of her

The story of the ARCA Menards Series is once again Joe Gibbs and Venturini dominance. However, it has all been part-timers who have won these races. With that said, that means the full-time drivers have been very close to one another.

The top-10 are separated by less than 50 points in the standings through the first few races of the season. Balcaen and others need to just be consistent, pick up top-10s, hope they turn into top-5s, and maybe you get lucky one of these weeks and have a shot at winning.

None of those full-time drivers have a win, so it’s a real fight in the points standings. In fact, if Balcaen finishes this race strong, she has a chance at being second in the standings by the end of the weekend. That would be quite the statement five races into the season.

Amber Balcaen has quietly had a good season. She is making the most of her opportunities. That Dover wreck did not help, but battling back with a top-10 finish at Kansas would be great.
