William Byron makes contact with the wall during qualifying at Kansas Speedway

Not a great start to the weekend for William Byron. The 24 car found itself in the wall going into turns one and two and paid the price. Byron will need a little bit of work done before Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race.

William Byron will not have a shot at the pole for the AdventHealth 400. He went up and into the wall and just scraped the side of his Chevy Camaro for a good while.

This isn’t the worst thing. He didn’t wreck exactly. Just contact with the wall, put a big black mark on it, and went to the garage. Tough break for Byron early in Kansas but things could get better from here.

This is a developing story…
