Ole Miss and head coach Lane Kiffin have been active inside the state of Mississippi this cycle. And on Sunday, the trend continued with a commitment from Tupelo (Miss.) cornerback Maison Dunn.
The 6-foot-4 prospect from just down the road chose the Rebels over notable offers from Mississippi State, Memphis, LSU, Minnesota and Louisville, among others. As a junior, he made 21 tackles and grabbed two interceptions and a tackle for loss for a 9-3 Golden Wave team. Tupelo’s playoff run ended in the 7A quarterfinals. Dunn was a key cog, though, for its 4-0 finish in region play.
Pete Golding and Bryan Brown continue to hammer away at the in-state talent in a once again loaded class in the Magnolia State.
The local recruit is the eighth commit in the 2025 class.
The lengthy corner also takes the in-state percentage to 57. He joins five-star running back Akylin Dear and four-star linebacker Jarcoby Hopson as the Mississippi commits for Kiffin and Ole Miss heading into the summer. Ole Miss is now ranked 18th in On3’s Team Football Recruiting Rankings after the local product announced Sunday.
Speaking of in-state success, the Rebels are also trending for Oak Grove (Miss.) four-star defensive lineman Andrew Maddox, Hartfield Academy (Miss.) four-star defensive lineman Reginald Vaughn and Madison Central (Miss.) three-star tight end Micah Jones.
Dunn recently visited Oxford, Miss., in March after receiving an offer from Golding in January. The Tupelo cornerback keeps the trend going for the Ole Miss defense in adding long, athletic corners.
