Spurs have suffered four consecutive defeats in the Premier League. They got battered by Newcastle United last month and then lost two London derbies against Arsenal and Chelsea.
Yesterday, Spurs let in four goals against Liverpool and lost that game as well.
Manchester City, on the other hand, have been on fire over the last few months. The last time Pep Guardiola’s men lost a game in the Premier League was in the first week of December.
The champions always turn up at this stage of the season. They have been brilliant recently and will go into the game against Spurs as the favourites next week.
Micah Richards, who is an Arsenal fan but also a City ambassador, has delivered his verdict on the game.
He believes that if Ange Postecoglou plays a high line against Manchester City, Tottenham will get battered.
Either way, the pundit believes the Etihad Stadium club have ‘too much’ for Spurs.
He said on the latest episode of the Rest is Football podcast: “If Spurs played Man City three weeks ago, I think the Man City fans would’ve been more nervous, but Spurs are giving away too many goals.
“If they try to play that high line against Man City, they’re going to absolutely batter them. They’re going to have to change a little something.
“It’s going to be an interesting game, but I just think Man City have got too much.”
Tottenham have one advantage over Manchester City
Tottenham Hotspur will be the underdogs against Manchester City, there’s no question about it.
Pep Guardiola’s side are the best in the world. They have world-class players across the pitch, are in incredible form, and have the quality to punish Spurs if given space.
The confidence at Tottenham will be extremely low, but if they just look at what has happened in this fixture in recent years, it could give them a bit of an edge.
Manchester City have never won a Premier League game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. They have played four times there and are yet to score a goal in the league.
That should give Tottenham and even Arsenal some confidence going into the game, but based on current form, City will likely win the game and then the title.
