Louis Jackson could very well be academy graduate number 251 against Crystal Palace, with injuries once again a burden for Manchester United.

United in Focus reported that after the Harry Maguire injury, Erik ten Hag may have no choice but to debut U18 academy star Louis Jackson against Oliver Glasner’s Crystal Palace side.

It all depends on the fitness levels of Jonny Evans. If the Manchester United veteran is okay, he’ll surely start, if not – Jackson will have to step up for his debut.

Jackson is a centre-back in Manchester United’s under-18s side who played a key role in the team winning the FA Youth Cup last season and did the double in the 23/24 campaign.

Just 16 at the time, Jackson delivered a mature display at Old Trafford, with United winning 3-1. But it was the very next campaign where he really came into his own.

Jackson has been a regular in the U18s setup, which has led to a first senior call-up for the FA Cup semi-final against Coventry City at Wembley Stadium. He has also been on the bench for a few Premier League fixtures.
