Julen Lopetegui appears to be on the verge of a move to take over as the new manager of West Ham United.
West Ham have decided to replace David Moyes with Julen Lopetegui at the end of the season, and the likes of Guillem Balague have suggested that he’ll be a fantastic appointment for us.
The Hammers fans will be expecting big things from the 57-year-old, and David Sullivan has allegedly already set him a target of a minimum of an eighth place finish in the Premier League table.
If Lopetegui is named as the new West Ham boss, patience from the fans will be crucial.
As long as there is some clear and visible progress from a playing style perspective, then I’m not putting any pressure on the Spaniard achieving a top eight finish.
I just want to see a clear and discernible playing style put in place by Lopetegui. If he does that, the results will come.
The former Wolves boss has been out of work since he left Molineux nine months ago, so he should be raring to go whenever he is handed the reins at the London Stadium.
And it seems as though he’s as hungry as he’s every been…

Not everyone is convinced about the ex-Wolves manager, but the fact he’s been in charge of Real Madrid and the Spain national team tells its own story really doesn’t it.
That said, what does he really know about the Premier League? Is he aware of just how intense and physically robust it is?
It seems like he’s had plenty of advice from friends on the management circuit…
The Telegraph highlight how Lopetegui is hungry for success in the Premier League:
“Close friends on the management circuit have always told him that English football was unique, and a level above any other European league, and his experiences at Wolves gave him a hunger for more.”
I am by no means a big fan of Lopetegui, or the football that he deploys.
However, if he is named as the new West Ham manager, I will give him my full support.
In addition to that, the more research that I do into the 57-year-old, the more impressed I am about the way he goes about his business.
If he is still hungry, as the Telegraph suggest he is, the West Ham move for Lopetegui should end up being a profitable one for all parties involved.
