‘Simply not good enough’: Pundit says Ange Postecoglou will sell £25m player at Tottenham now

Tottenham Hotspur put in another abject performance at the weekend.

Yes, there was a late rally at Anfield to bring the score back to a more respectable 4-2, but Spurs were terrible for the large majority of this game.

Indeed, Spurs found themselves 4-0 down after 70 minutes for a reason, and things need to change.

Speaking on Premier League Productions, Don Hutchison has been discussing Tottenham’s loss to Liverpool and their ongoing defensive issues.

Hutchison discussed Tottenham’s issues at full-back, and he gave a damning verdict on Emerson Royal, claiming that the Brazilian simply isn’t good enough and won’t be at Tottenham for much longer.

Emerson Royal isn’t good enough

Hutchison spoke about the £25m defender and his role at Tottenham.

“Porro when he goes forward looks a million dollars. But defensively not so good, Udogie is the same. Emerson Royal, I don’t think he’ll be there under Ange’s tenure, he’s simply not good enough,” Hutchison said.

Emerson Royal doesn’t fit in under Ange Postecoglou

Emerson Royal really doesn’t suit this Tottenham team under Ange Postecoglou.

The Brazilian isn’t that bad when it comes to one-vs-one defending, but if you want him to do anything with the ball, you’re in trouble.

Emerson Royal’s technical ability just isn’t there. He’s not a great dribbler, he’s not a great crosser, and he’s not got a fantastic eye for a pass either.

It is harsh to point out these flaws after a game in which the defender was played out of position, but, at the same time, these issues have been brewing under the surface for a long time now.

Don’t be shocked if Emerson Royal is sold by Tottenham this summer, because he’s not at the required standard for a club chasing a place in the Champions League.
