KFC testing return of 'beloved' food item that hasn’t graced the menu since 2014

KFC is reportedly testing a “highly blessed” throwback product from 2014, with the news sparking a great reaction from the fast-food chain’s American fanbase.

Fast food restaurants reviving a fallen friend is nothing especially new, just look at recent tests from Taco Bell as proof. Still, returning products give long-term customers a sense of victory as they welcome back foods they devoured years earlier.

Is the KFC Twister Wrap coming back?

The news was teased by the popular Instagram food-news page @snackolator, who you might remember teased lavender and matcha-flavored Oreos last week. On Monday, posted a picture of the super crunchy Twister Wrap with key pricing information for his followers.

“I had posted in a video a few weeks ago that @kfc is currently testing the Twister Wrap (The first time since 2014 this has been available) in Nashville, but today they asked followers if they’d like to see it go nationwide… usually that’s a sign that it is going to be headed nationwide soon!” Snackolator wrote.

The wrap itself features two of KFC’s signature tenders with original seasoning, wrapped with lettuce, tomato, and a spicy pepper mayo sauce. Currently, the wrap is priced at $4.99 in Nashville, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it will remain that price during a nationwide launch.

Americans are ecstatic at the potential release

Many of Snackolator’s fans celebrated the news in the comments as others thought back to their experiences with the KFC Twister Wrap way back in 2014.

One person wrote: “This was the only thing I ate when it came out.”

“We used to have this in Australia and KFC Australia got rid of this, for some stupid crunch range twister, and seeing this makes me annoyed,” a second person said.

A third wrote: “Yes, I never tasted the beloved wrapped before.”
