Adam Wharton enjoyed yet another outstanding evening for Crystal Palace as is becoming the norm recently, but Blackburn fans aren’t thrilled.
Manchester United had no response to Crystal Palace on Monday night as the red and blue side thrashed the 20-time league winners 4-0.
It was as big of a statement win as you could possibly get with several Palace players impressing in the big win for Oliver Glasner.
While Michael Olise has taken all the headlines thanks to his two excellent goals, however another to once again blow everyone away was Adam Wharton.
The 20-year-old midfielder has been a revelation in the middle for the Eagles since he arrived at Selhurst Park, and he once again showed why he’s so highly rated with his performance against United.
Having arrived in January from Blackburn, Wharton’s former fans have all had something to say about his form.
What Blackburn fans have been saying about Adam Wharton
After yet another excellent performance for Palace, Blackburn fans have all had the same thing to say. That being that Dougie Freedman has robbed the Rovers blind in stealing away Wharton.

One fan had this to say exactly, as he wrote: “Crystal Palace have absolutely robbed us blind for Adam Wharton, by the way. I know we needed the money, but £18m for a generational talent is quite incredible.”
Underneath this post, another Blackburn fan wrote: “Triple that and it’s still a rip-off”, concerning the fee Palace paid for Wharton.
“I think you’re right, we have”, another fan commented under the post.
“It was like signing him for 50 pence”, wrote another in response to the original post.
A fourth fan labelled the move as being done for a “Criminal fee”.
“It’s painful. He’s already worth 4x that”, wrote a final fan in response to the claim that Palace had robbed the former Premier League champions.

Just how much would Adam Wharton be worth to Crystal Palace now?
It’s not the first EFL bargain that Palace have swooped up over the past few years, and we also doubt it’s the last.
But if in some hypothetical world, Palace were to sell Wharton this summer? How much could Steve Parish reasonably expect to receive?
Judging by the fact he’s had such a rapid progression, and also that Palace have already spent a hefty chunk on him, it’s arguable that Wharton’s value sits alongside Marc Guehi right now at between £50m and £60m.
Wharton is a special talent though, and Palace would be ludicrous to let him go at all let alone this summer.
It’s easy to imagine that Blackburn fans’ frustrations will only grow over the next few years, as Wharton gets better and better, with their only saving grace being a potential sell-on clause.
