Arteta told ‘perfect’ duo from Premier League rival would add ‘X-Factor’ to Arsenal squad

Journalist Charles Watts has now named two Premier League stars who he feels would take Arsenal to the next level.

Arsenal will be keen to strengthen their squad in the upcoming summer transfer window.

With the likes of Eddie Nkietah, Reiss Nelson, Emile Smith Rowe, and Fabio Vieira all listed amongst the 13 Arsenal players who could leave the club this summer, there is certainly the prospect of seeing plenty of player churn in attacking areas.

Certainly, adequate back up for Bukayo Saka is required, as the Hale End academy graduate is currently required to play virtually every minute. Mikel Arteta clearly does not trust Nelson to step in for Saka in matches of any importance, as he has only handed the 24-year-old one Premier League start this season.

Equally, with Kai Havertz now established as a striker, and a strong argument that Declan Rice is at his best at the base of the midfield trio, there is room for someone to take up the left-sided No. 8 berth at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal urged to consider Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise

Charles Watts believes that Crystal Palace duo Eberiche Eze and Michael Olise would be ideally suited to these No. 8 and right wing roles, respectively.

Writing in his Daily Briefing column, the reporter said: “I think either Eberechi Eze or Michael Olise would be a perfect fit for Arsenal this summer. I know the club is looking for a new attacking player who could add a bit of X-Factor to the team, someone who can come in and make something out of nothing.”

Eze and Olise have both been in spectacular form for the Eagles this season.

Why Arsenal will be watching Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise

On Monday evening, Olise sparkled as he scored a brace in the South London club’s 4-0 thrashing of Manchester United.

The French winger possesses excellent technique and has an eye for the spectacular. The 22-year-old has contributed 9 goals and 4 assists in just 17 Premier League appearances this season, as a couple of hamstring injuries have limited his availability.

Meanwhile, Eze has been a talismanic figure at Selhurst Park, so often providing a moment of magic to spark his team into life. The 25-year-old has racked up 8 goals and 5 assists in 29 outings across all competitions.

Both players would be exciting additions to Arteta’s Arsenal squad this summer. However, neither would come cheap, as Crystal Palace would surely fight tooth and nail to retain the services of their two prize assets.
