Caitlin Clark‘s WNBA debut will be history-making as it will stream live on Disney+. ESPN recently announced (perThe Hollywood Reporter) that next Tuesday’s (May 14) WNBA tip-off games, including Clark’s debut with the Indiana Fever, will stream live on the platform. The games will also be available on ESPN+ and ESPN2.

This will be the first time that Disney+ will stream live sports. It did have experimental streams with the NFL and NHL, in which it used technology to stream games live, but with animated characters instead of real-life athletes. With Clark getting a ton of hype since being drafted by the Fever last month, the hope is she will be a ton of viewers to Disney+.

The news comes after Disney CEO Bob Iger said the company would add an ESPN title to Disney+ later this year, with selected live games available at no charge. “We see this as a first step to bring ESPN to Disney+ viewers as we ready the launch of our enhanced standalone ESPN streaming in the fall of 2025,” Iger said during Disney’s earnings call on Tuesday.

Caitlin Clark is ready to play in the WNBA

Clark is doing well in the preseason. Most recently, the former Iowa Hawkeyes star led the Fever with 21 points in the loss against the Dallas Wings. During training camp last month, Clark talked about getting back to work after a busy few months.

“I think that’s what I was most excited for – get all that other stuff out of the way,” Clark said, per the Fever’s official website. “There really hasn’t been a down period for me to kind of really catch my breath, but at the same time, I feel really grateful for that, too. Like I said to everybody, I feel like I’m in really good basketball shape. There’s no getting back in shape for myself. I’ve been playing basketball, there’s not really been an off period. For me, I feel like that’s a really good thing. You just keep the momentum rolling and keep being myself and keep learning.”

Clark also talked about leaning on the veteran players on the team to help her get acclimated to the WNBA. “It’s definitely different, but that’s what you expect when you start a new chapter of your life,” Clark said. “This coaching staff is fully prepared. I think they have been watching me for quite some time, and I think the stuff they have planned and the actions we’re going to run are going to be really good for myself (and) really good for this group in general. A lot of screening action. It’s fast, a fast shot clock, but it fits my game well.”
