Aurelien Tchouameni chances of playing in Real Madrid Champions League final now revealed

Real Madrid secured their place in the Champions League final after an outstanding victory over Bayern Munich at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Los Blancos were dominant, but found themselves trailing after a wonder goal from Alphonso Davies.

However, Carlo Ancelotti made the perfect substitutions, and striker Joselu was the hero as he scored twice in injury time to turn the tie around and send Real Madrid to Wembley.

One of Ancelotti’s other substitutions saw Aurelien Tchouameni replaced by Eduardo Camavinga in the 69th minute, and it later emerged that this was forced as a result of a stress injury to the defensive midfielder’s foot.

Real Madrid now face a worry, as the vital 24-year-old could now miss the Champions League final.

The Athletic have now reported that Real Madrid believe Tchouameni only has a 20% chance of making the final.

Although the Frenchman may return in time to represent his country at the European Championships in June, there is a good chance that he will have to sit out the clash with Borussia Dortmund at Wembley Stadium on June 1st.

Real Madrid have already won La Liga, meaning that they will be able to cope without the midfielder in the coming weeks, but they will be sweating over his fitness for the final.

Real Madrid have lost just two games in all competitions this season, with a loss to Atletico Madrid in La Liga, and a defeat after extra time to the same opponents in the Copa Del Rey.

Tchouameni appeared as a substitute in both games, meaning that his side are unbeaten when he has started this season.

The Frenchman suffered a dip in form after the World Cup last year, but he has since found his best level, and Ancelotti will have to think of a solution to his midfield dilemma if Tchouameni is missing against Dortmund, with Toni Kroos or Eduardo Camavinga the likely options to start at the base.
