Tottenham have now held transfer meeting with the agent of £64m midfielder ahead of summer

Tottenham Hotspur have now held a meeting with a £64m midfielder ahead of this summer’s transfer window.

A new midfielder is on the radar for Ange Postecoglou this summer as he looks to address the issues he has experienced in his first season at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

It has been a real area for concern over recent months at Tottenham with the likes of Yves Bissouma looking like a shadow of the player who started the season.

And then there are others like Pape Matar Sarr and James Maddison who are also suffering from a similar issue as the Mali midfielder.

Players like Conor Gallagher have been heavily linked with a potential move across London to Hotspur Way.

However, the club are now believed to have held a meeting over a player further afar than inside the Premier League.

But it is apparent that they are going to come up against some stern competition if they are to land this in-demand midfielder.

Tottenham hold meeting with club they’ve recently dealt with

Since Postecoglou was appointed by Daniel Levy, the Australian has brought in a number of players over his first two transfer windows.

Most of them have worked out for the better and only a few still have question marks hanging over them.

One which is still yet to work out is Manor Solomon who has been out for the large majority of the campaign through an injury issue.

And The Spurs News now understand that Tottenham are open to the idea of selling the forward during this summer’s window.

It seems Tottenham are now looking to bring in another player from Shakhtar Donetsk this summer in Heorhiy Sudakov.

According to journalist Lorenzo Lepore, Spurs have now held a meeting over the player with their interest described as ‘concrete’.

However, Spurs will have to beat the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal if they are to land the 21-year-old.

And Shakhtar are said to value their midfielder in the region of €65m-€75m (£56m-£64m).

Key reason which may make a deal for Heorhij Sudakov really difficult

Having previously dealt with Shakhtar when they signed Solomon in the summer, Spurs do not hold the best of relationships with the Ukrainian club.

Although Spurs signed Solomon on a free transfer, Shakhtar have demanded some compensation from Spurs, according to ESPN.

Given the fractured relationship between the two clubs, it would be interesting to see how a potential deal between them could pan out.

As Spurs have also seen in the past with Tanguy Ndombele, spending that type of money on a midfielder who is unproven in the Premier League will provide a massive risk.
