'In the next days': Fabrizio Romano claims Chelsea now are edging towards 'out-of-this-world' signing

The transfer window may not be open yet, but Chelsea have already got the ball rolling with regards to securing an exciting signing.

The Blues have made quite a name for themselves in recent years when it comes to signing young stars.

Now, Chelsea appear to be getting closer to securing the signature of a player who has been deemed a “generational talent”.

The player in question is Palmeiras wonderkid Estevao Willian, one of the most highly rated young players in South America.

On Wednesday, Fabrizio Romano claimed that Chelsea had reached verbal agreement with Estevao over a move to Stamford Bridge.

Now, the transfer insider has taken to X with a follow-up post, and it’s good news for Blues fans.

What has Fabrizio Romano said about Chelsea pursuit of Estevao Willian?

Romano wrote: “Chelsea want to seal Willian Estevao deal as soon as possible after personal terms agreed, as reported.

“Negotiations underway with Palmeiras while #CFC want to get it done in the next days to avoid any surprise.

“Chelsea believe he’s generational talent and big opportunity.”

Chelsea closing in on ‘out-of-this-world’ talent Estevao Willian

So far, most of the speculation involving Chelsea and Estevao is pointing in the right direction.

The breakthrough in terms of personal terms is obviously key, and next we’ll see what Palmeiras make of the Blues’ offer.

Signing Estevao would be a huge statement of intent from Chelsea. Even though he can’t join until he turns 18 in 2025, he really looks like a superstar in the making.

Joao Paulo Sampaio, the head of Palmeiras’ youth setup, told the FIFA website last year: “One thing these kinds of players have is a strong personality, a big ego to say: ‘I am, I can and I will’.

“And they do it. For these out-of-this-world talents, things come easy. It’s difficult for your average player, who make up the vast majority.”
