'I think they're going to': Gabby Agbonlahor makes Arsenal prediction for next season

Arsenal are still very much in the picture for the Premier League title and will be hoping to take it to the last day of the season.

The Gunners currently sit top of the table with 83 points from 36 games, with Manchester City second on 82 points from 35 games.

Admittedly, City are almost unstoppable at present, so Arsenal can’t rest easy at the summit due to their title rivals’ game in hand.

Nonetheless, whatever happens this season, the feeling around the Emirates Stadium is that the Gunners could challenge at the top for years to come.

Everything clicked for Arsenal last season, and they pushed City all the way in the title race. They’re doing the same this season, and the long-term foundations are there.

Gabriel Agbonlahor has now made a prediction about what the next few Premier League seasons could have in store for Arsenal and Manchester City.

What has Gabriel Agbonlahor said about future Arsenal hopes?

Agbonlahor, speaking on talkSPORT, was speaking about his top Premier League managers this season.

He named Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta in third place, with Aston Villa’s Unai Emery in second and City’s Pep Guardiola in top spot.

Agbonlahor said about Arteta: “Any other season he’d be winning the league, if it wasn’t for this juggernaut in Man City.

“I think they’re going to be fighting it out now for a few seasons, City and Arsenal. They’ve been outstanding Arsenal this season.”

Arsenal have laid the perfect foundations to become regular Premier League title challengers

Since Arteta took the Arsenal reins in 2019, the Gunners have gone from upper mid-table mediocrity to two title challenges in a row.

There have been instances in the past where teams have impressed in the league or even won the title, but it proved a bit of a flash in the pan. Leicester City, for instance.

However, in Arsenal’s case, they’ve got some incredibly solid foundations. Their team is young and most of their top talents penned long-term contracts not long ago.

And the better a team does on the pitch and behind the scenes, the more pull they have in the transfer market, which means they can attract better and better players.

Therefore, you get the feeling that, as Agbonlahor said, Arsenal should be able to keep challenging for the title – and even the Champions League – in the coming years.
