Streich says his final home game with Freiburg is 'not interesting'

Freiburg coach Christian Streich does not want to make a fuss about his last home appearance after more than 12 years in the job.

They host Heidenheim on Saturday with a Champions League spot still possible.

"It's not interesting. It doesn't matter whether Streich is there for another three years or leaves," the 58-year-old told reporters on Friday.

"There's a lot at stake for us in sporting terms. In the last two games, we can turn a season in which we've really struggled into something really special again. That's the only thing that matters. Everything else is totally secondary."

If Borussia Dortmund finish fifth in the Bundesliga and win the Champions League, sixth spot is suddenly worth a place in next year's premier European club competition. Freiburg, in seventh, trail sixth-placed Eintracht Frankfurt by four points with two to play.

His successor next term will be former Freiburg captain Julian Schuster.
