Manchester United fans are all saying the same thing after latest Mason Mount injury update

As Manchester United prepare to face Arsenal this weekend, Mason Mount has now picked up another injury.

Erik ten Hag was without his captain Bruno Fernandes for Monday’s 4-0 loss at the hands of Crystal Palace.

This game did however see Mason Mount slot straight into the number 10 position where many have wanted to see him all season, only he failed to impress in a shocking team display.

But now as Manchester United gear themselves up for the next game against Arsenal, Ten Hag has confirmed that Mount is once again injured.

This is the latest blow in what has been an underwhelming debut campaign for the £55m former Chelsea man. Now fans have been reacting to the news.

Manchester United fans react to Mason Mount’s latest injury blow

After Ten Hag revealed that the midfielder is once again injured, fans were all reacting on X with similar responses.

Known fan and YouTuber @SaeedTV_ on X has clearly gotten fed up with Mount, writing: “_______ sell him in the summer. I’ve had enough. Chelsea robbed us!!”

X user @UtdCynical had harsh words over the decision to sign Mount in the first place: “Mount one of the worst signings post SAF. £60m for a player in the last year of his deal, gave him the number 7 shirt and he hasn’t even started 10 games in a season”.

While this sentiment was shared by another fan, @AidanWalshMUFC who wrote: “The most pointless transfer. £55m for Mount is on the same level as the Antony transfer.”

Another fan, @UTDPatron argued that this transfer is the epitome of United’s terrible transfer business recently: “Mason Mount summarises Man Utd’s poor recruitment over the last decade and to top it off the club gave him the number 7.”

For @TenHagEra, the number seven shirt was a clear area of focus: “Strip the #7 shirt from Mount at the end of the season and give it straight to Garnacho by the way.”

What should the club do with Mason Mount?

Signed just last summer on a long-term and expensive contract, Mount is going nowhere this summer.

Despite being a player that Ten Hag sought out and wanted for his team, it’s a decision which looks even more baffling now than it did a year ago.

We all know what kind of a player Mount is and just how good he can be, but United must help him as it’s almost impossible to enter an underperforming team and thrive – especially with such bad luck with injuries.

Going forward, whoever the manager is for United will likely be keen on keeping Mount and using him as he so often endears himself to his coaches.

Hopefully, a good preseason and a properly structured team for next season can see Mount begin to prove he was worth signing.
