'I expect a summer move': Fabrizio Romano drops update on £60m star Arsenal are reportedly trying to sign

Arsenal have enjoyed a solid season that could yet see them secure their first Premier League title since 2004.

The Gunners have come a long way since Mikel Arteta took the reins in 2019, as he has revamped the squad and united the dressing room.

Arsenal won’t rest on their laurels in the summer transfer window as Arteta and Edu look to improve the squad further.

Plenty of top players have been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in recent weeks, including one of the Premier League’s top young talents.

The player in question is Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise, who Tuttojuve recently suggested is ‘heading towards Arsenal’.

Admittedly, Olise has plenty of suitors, including Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool, so the Gunners will need to work hard if they are to sign him.

However, it looks as though the £60million-rated Frenchman is set for a move away, according to Fabrizio Romano.

What has Fabrizio Romano said about Arsenal target Michael Olise?

“Crystal Palace will add players to their squad before the 2024/25 season but they will also want to keep their best stars,” Romano wrote on CaughtOffside.

“I don’t think it will be easy for them to keep all of their top players as Michael Olise, Eberechi Eze and Marc Guehi are attracting interest.

“For Olise, I expect a summer move with many clubs interested; the same for Marc Guehi who’s on the list of several clubs.

“When it comes to Eze, we will have to see what happens over the summer.”

Who is Arsenal target Michael Olise?

Olise, who was born in London, was with a number of top academies as a youngster (Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City) before linking up with Reading in 2017.

He rose through the ranks and broke into the Royal first-team squad in 2019 before earning himself a move to Palace in 2021, where he has gone from strength to strength.

The 22-year-old has made 87 competitive appearances for the Eagles and has registered an impressive 13 goals and 23 assists.

Olise has also been capped seven times for France’s Under-21s, and surely it won’t be long before he’s in the senior squad picture.

There’s no doubt he would be a fantastic option for the Gunners. He can score goals, provide assists, is a great dribbler and has a lot of experience in the Premier League too.
