'Gets in every 11 in world football': Don Hutchinson says £100k-a-week Spurs player would easily start for Arsenal

Tottenham Hotspur gave their hopes of Champions League qualification a real boost with their 2-1 win over Burnley on Saturday.

Spurs will be hoping to join the likes of Arsenal in Europe’s premier club competition next season, and though they’ve still got a lot of work to do, it’s not impossible.

Tottenham are next in action on Tuesday night when they host Manchester City, and a Spurs win would be of huge help for both the Lilywhites and the title-chasing Gunners.

Micky van de Ven, who scored the winner for Tottenham on Saturday and has been amazing all season, will be hoping to keep up his great form in the last two games of the campaign.

The £43million Dutchman, who was named Tottenham’s Player of the Season in May, has really made a name for himself at Spurs, earning praise from fans and neutrals alike.

Don Hutchison has now singled Van de Ven out for praise, saying he’s good enough to get into “every 11 in world football” and naming Arsenal as one of the starting XI he’d make.

The pundit responded to a fan on X and named the Gunners, Liverpool, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Real Madrid in his message about the £100,000-a-week Spurs star.

How did Tottenham fare in win over Burnley?

Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs were desperate to return to winning ways after losing their last four games in the Premier League.

Tottenham didn’t make the best start in north London, falling behind in the 25th minute to Jacob Bruun Larsen’s well-taken effort.

However, it didn’t take long for Spurs to equalise, Pedro Porro surging into the box and firing home in the 32nd minute of the game.

Tottenham had plenty of chances to race ahead, but they had to wait until the 82nd minute before they were finally in the lead.

Van de Ven was the unlikely scorer, slotting into the bottom-left corner of the net after great movement from Dane Scarlett to help the defender find space.
