Journo claims £34m West Ham star's entourage told him their man could leave the LS this summer

One of David Moyes’s most expensive West Ham United signings could leave the London Stadium this summer it seems.

West Ham boss David Moyes is all set to leave the club this summer with Julen Lopetegui coming in to replace him, and one of his biggest signings apparently could follow him out the door.

Lopetegui is expected to make at least six new signings. Meanwhile, as many as 12 Hammers are being linked with the London Stadium exit door.

And one West Ham player in particular seems like he’ll definitely be off before the start of next season.

Nayef Aguerd signed for West Ham from Rennes in the summer of 2022 for a deal that could end up totalling £34 million (L’Equipe).

However, he has been heavily linked with an exit from the club over the past few months, and it would surprise nobody if he did indeed move on from the Hammers.

Now a journalist has lifted the lid on something he’s heard about Aguerd’s future…

Nayef Aguerd could leave West Ham this summer

The 28-year-old centre-back just doesn’t seem to be suited to the robust, physical and intense nature of Premier League football.

If he leaves West Ham this summer for a decent fee, it will be a job well done from the club.

Moroccan football journalist Hakim Zhouri has told Le 10 Sport what Aguerd’s agents have told him about their client’s future at the London Stadium:

“I received feedback yesterday from his entourage. So, regarding Marseille’s interest in Aguerd. The player is not against the idea of leaving since he has lost his “indisputable” starting status. Now he’s more in the rotation, he comes into play less. It’s true that he’s a little injured but he’s really less in the coach’s idea of the game.

I won’t be too sad to see Aguerd leave West Ham, if he does indeed move on this summer.

I don’t think he’s a bad player with the ball at his feet, but he definitely doesn’t have the physical attributes required to succeed in the Premier League.

It was a poor signing from Moyes in hindsight, and I’m looking forward to seeing Lopetegui bring in a proper centre-back this summer,.
