Justin Sylvester was Kyle Richards’ assistant
When Justin Sylvester first met Kyle Richards, he went to her house in the hopes of getting a job as her personal assistant.
Appearing as a guest on The Viall Files last year, he explained why he wasn’t sure if it was the right fit initially.
He told of how Kyle said she “wanted someone for around three months,” but after speaking to his friend, Ali Landry, he decided to go ahead with the role. All these years later, the rest is history.
Justin revealed how he’s been involved with RHOBH for 15 years. He explained he also worked as a TV producer on the show and knows the ins and outs of what goes down.
Speaking of RHOBH’s infamous dinner parties, Justin said there’s a reason he “finds a seat in the corner” and “doesn’t talk.”
He added how the food doesn’t come out until the drama has stopped: “Things can get pretty tense” at the table.
He went as far as to say that “being a housewife is one of the hardest jobs in Hollywood”.
“I would rather be Joe Biden at a press conference than a Real Housewife at a dinner party.”
Kyle’s ‘life-changing’ words
After becoming Kyle’s personal assistant during RHOBH season 1, Justin was invited to a ‘Gays and Gals’ party during season 2, reports Today.
The moment served as a major turning point in his life. Justin explained how Kyle “sat him down” and invited him to the party.
He revealed on Today with Hoda and Jenna how Kyle said: “I really want you to come with me, but I know you’re not out to your family. And if you do this, the schtick is up.”
Being the ever-supportive bestie, Kyle also said: “If you do decide to do this… I will be with you every step of the way.”
Justin explained how the moment changed his life at 22 years old. He made a call to his mother, which he says “…was the hardest call of my life, but the greatest call of my life…”
“That moment changed my life forever because, for the longest time, I was hiding my real dream. I knew I could never be in front of the camera because of the shame I would bring all my family.”
