NC State Newsstand: Pack set to play in 2025 Maui Invitational

For the first time ever, NC State men’s basketball will have to pack its bags for Maui during the 2025 season.

The Wolfpack, fresh off its first Final Four appearance since 1983, earned an invite to the prestigious 2025 Maui Invitational — its first time playing in the multi-team event — the tournament announced Tuesday afternoon.

The event is hosted by Division II Chaminade University and it will be played Nov. 24-26, 2025 for the 42 annual event.

“We are grateful to announce another stellar field to compete in the 2025 tournament,” said KemperSports LIVE Executive Vice President Tom Valdiserri. “It’s always a treat to bring together some of the best in college basketball on the beautiful island of Maui.”

NC State will be joined by Baylor, Chaminade, Oregon, Texas, UNLV and USC in the tournament. Each team is guaranteed three games in three days while staying in beautiful Maui, Hawaii.

NC State men’s basketball is in pursuit of top-100 guard Jackson Keith, and he was appreciative by schools putting a priority on him instead of filling that need in the transfer portal with an experienced collegiate player.

“They might not try and act like it’s a big deal, but I think it’s a big deal,” Keith said of college coaches. “If you can always go out there and get a 23-year-old and you’re still recruiting a 17-year-old kid, that makes you feel special, for sure.”
