Fabio Silva's departure edges closer: Wolves name their asking price as European giants circle

Fabio Silva looks likely to leave Wolves this summer with two European giants ready to take a gamble on the striker.

In the UK, Silva has never found good fortune. Since joining Wolves for a then-record fee of £35.6 million in 2020, his performances have never lived up to expectations.

So far, the striker has only found the net in Old Gold five times in 73 appearances, with his last Premier League goal coming in 2021.

As a result, Gary O’Neil shipped out the 21-year-old to Rangers for the second half of the current campaign. However, in Scotland, the Portuguese youngster has failed to impress. In the Scottish Cup semi-finals, Silva went viral for a ‘comical’ miss against Hearts.

Therefore, a departure looks likely with Wolves aiming to rekindle some of their money back. Now, it seems as if this may become a reality this summer, as AC Milan and Sevilla chase the striker.

According to CaughtOffside, Silva has multiple potential suitors for the upcoming transfer window.

Despite a less-than-successful spell in Scotland, both AC Milan and Sevilla hold interest in the striker.

The article explains that despite Rangers wanting to sign the loanee on a permanent deal, Silva is keen on a challenge elsewhere.

As a result, this has attracted the interest of AC Milan. The Italian giants are searching for a striker and Silva has been seen as a possible alternative.

On top of this, Spanish sides Sevilla and Real Betis as well as Italian outfit Bologna are also claimed to be interested.

Wolves have also reportedly given Silva a £20 million price tag. While this would still be a loss on his original transfer to the club, it would still see a sizeable chunk of money come into the club.

In the upcoming transfer window, Wolves must part ways with Silva for the good of both parties.

The striker clearly needs a new, permanent environment to thrive and help kick on his career. Silva is still young and could well become a top player if he can turn his career around.

Wolves also need the cash. O’Neil stated last week that the club may need to sell to buy this summer. Therefore, if they can bring in an extra £20 million for a player not in the Wolves manager’s plan, that would be a big bonus.

Waiting another season does not do any good for either party and a swift end to this arrangement should be a big priority for both Silva and the Molineux side.
