Exclusive: Arsenal have their eye on ‘very fast’ striker who only moved in January, Edu really likes him

Arsenal have their eye on a number of strikers heading into this summer’s transfer window.

The likes of Viktor Gyokeres and Alexander Isak have been strongly linked with a move to the Emirates, and now, the Gunners are once again looking at a player they’ve had a long-standing interest in.

Indeed, despite joining Benfica in January, TBR Football understands that Arsenal are still keen on Marcos Leonardo.

Arsenal still keen on Marcos Leonardo

Arsenal were strongly linked with a move for Marcos Leonardo before his move to Benfica, and that interest hasn’t subsided.

TBR Football understands that the Brazilian is a player that Edu is a huge admirer of and is keeping tabs on his progress.

Edu, of course, knows the Brazilian market very well, signing the likes of Marquinhos and Gabriel Martinelli in recent years.

Marcos Leonardo has impressed

Marcos Leonardo may have only moved in January, but Arsenal still have an eye on him heading into the summer.

The striker has continued to impress after his big move to Europe, netting seven goals in 13 league appearances so far for Benfica, and it may not be long before another big move comes onto the table.

We have seen played make quick moves away from Benfica after arriving from South America as of late with Enzo Fernandez making a £105m move to Chelsea just six months after signing for Benfica last season.

Leonardo could follow a similar path should Arsenal decide to firm up their interest in the ‘very fast’ centre-forward.

Arsenal are in for a new striker heading into the summer, and Leonardo isn’t the only option from the Portuguese league that has been touted as Viktor Gyokeres has also been named as a key target.

With Edu such a fan of the player, Marcos Leonard may be someone Arsenal explore further in the coming months or years.
