Former Texas A&M and New Mexico State standout Eli Stowers has committed to Vanderbilt out of the NCAA transfer portal, according to a report from On3’s Pete Nakos.

Stowers was a versatile, do-it-all threat for the Aggies last season.

As a sophomore, Stowers recorded 35 catches for 366 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed 29 times for 125 yards and two scores. Stowers even threw some passes, going 4-of-8 for 99 yards and a touchdown.

He will reportedly play tight end for the Commodores.

Eli Stowers spent the first two years of his career at Texas A&M, where he was initially recruited as a quarterback. He was a high-profile prospect out of high school, too.

Prior to enrolling at Texas A&M, Eli Stowers was ranked as a four-star recruit and the No. 176 overall prospect in the nation in the 2021 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.

He also checked in as the No. 18 quarterback in the class and the No. 30 overall player from the state of Texas, hailing from Denton (TX) Guyer.

Vanderbilt lands Notre Dame defensive back transfer

Former Notre Dame defensive Micah Bell has committed to Vanderbilt out of the NCAA transfer portal, he announced.

In his lone season at Notre Dame, Bell made three appearances and tallied one tackle, which was a tackle for loss. While he is listed as a defensive back, his announcement photo labels him as an ‘ATH’ or athlete, which means he could be both sides of the ball and even special teams.

He now enters the SEC, where his brother Dillon, is a wide receiver at Georgia. Dillon Bell played in all 14 games for the Bulldogs last season while making eight starts.

Before enrolling at Notre Dame last season, Micah Bell played high school football at The Kincaid School (TX), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 264 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services.

On3’s Barkley Traux also contributed to this report.
