Report: Man City now want to sign £35m player in the summer, he is really keen on Premier League move

It has been reported that Manchester City are interested in signing a certain 23-year-old player in the summer.

In the Premier League especially, it would not be a surprise if there was heated competition to sign some players.

Especially at the top of the table, with Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool looking to win the league once again.

If Pep Guardiola’s men end up winning the league this season, the Gunners and the Reds will be desperate to make a statement in the transfer market.

Report shares Man City’s interest in Jeremie Frimpong

It has been claimed by Sports Lens journalist Dean Jones that Manchester City are looking to sign an attacking full-back and a target on their transfer wish list is Jeremie Frimpong.

The Dutchman is viewed as one of their primary candidates to address a problem area in their squad.

The report claims that the Bayer Leverkusen right-back has a £35 million release clause and is keen on a Premier League move in the summer.

It is believed that while most of the Leverkusen squad will stay at the club, Frimpong is one of the few players who could depart the Bundesliga winners.

Furthermore, City are looking to sign a long-term heir to Kyle Walker’s throne, even if he stays at the club next season.

Jeremie Frimpong, who came through the Manchester City academy is believed to have several admirers at the Etihad Stadium.

The former Celtic defender, who has 14 goals and 12 assists in all competitions has only enhanced his reputation this campaign.

The report also states that for Manchester City to sign Jeremie Frimpong, they will have to trigger his release clause swiftly.

Bayer Leverkusen would only allow any deal for the in-form speedster to progress if the process to sanction his exit begins in early June.

Xabi Alonso’s side would require time to replace a player as important to their success as the Amsterdam-born full-back.

In August last year, Frimpong admitted that it would be “great” for him to return to City one day.

Only time will tell if Manchester City push to sign Jeremie Frimpong or look elsewhere in their search for a brand-new attacking full-back.
